Disrupting the Opioid Crisis
More people are dying of opioid overdoses in Canada than ever before. In Ontario, opiate use now accounts for one in six deaths of young adults. Illicit fentanyl is the chief culprit. The federal government has declared a national health crisis.
This epidemic is tearing apart families and leaving gaping holes in our social fabric. MAP scientists are working to identify the strategies and interventions that guide drug protocols and policies to promote health and human rights.
