In Memory of Ronald A. Hubert

    August 11, 1931- April 3, 2024

Ron left his home on this earth April 3, 2024. He left with the complete assurance that he would be with his Saviour, Jesus Christ forever.

At 92, Ron was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas, and Mabel. Born in Kitchener, Ron grew up in North Bay where he gained an early appreciation of outdoor sports and the beauty of nature. In 1950, Ron moved to Toronto to attend university and met Shirley at Kingsway Baptist. For 69 years, their marriage was based on love and forgiveness. They trusted God to lead them through life’s circumstances.

Ron and Shirley have four children: Jeannie (deceased 1960), Paul (Joan), Greg, and Sally (Max). They have three grandchildren: Alexandra (Adam), Nicholas (Jaclyn), and Zachary, along with two great-grandchildren (Oliver and Emilia). They also have 2 step-granddaughters, Fiona and Rebecca and great grandson Atticus.

Since 1968, Ron loved to spend time on Boshkung Lake in Haliburton. Sailing, canoeing, swimming, golf, stonework (minus the nails that were lost on 3 of his children), tree maintenance and winter skiing were his joys.

He was adventurous & sports minded he was proud at 65 years young taking skiing lessons in Whistler and continued to always ask how the Leafs were playing & did they win. He spoke with purpose, always found something in common with those he met, loved his John Grisham novels, and had a quiet sense of humour.

Ron had two employers in his 46 years of work. He enjoyed the challenge of negotiating collective agreements across Canada with Canada Packers. He was a proud Eaton employee. As VP of Employee Relations, he was known for ensuring the fair and dignified treatment of all.

The family thanks the nursing & PSW staff at The Shores of Port Credit for their gentle and compassionate care.
